Questioning your efforts
The VV Good Index researched the efforts of large pharmaceutical companies and their social impact. The report concludes that most social investment data are hazy and incomparable. This results directly from the fact that companies disclose what they have done, for instance donating x million of drugs, rather than reporting the impact of their efforts.
Trying your best is not good enough
Corporate responsibility is not limited to donating money or spending time on projects. Setting goals can make the efforts far more rewarding. The effect of goals is that it doesn’t feel like burning resources for doing good.
Measure your goals
Setting goals and measuring the impact can increase the effectiveness significantly, both internally and externally. Goals help to manage projects and to focus on the ones with the most impact. Data about your social impact also contribute to the credibility of your efforts, thus enhancing your reputation.
